Since this blog is titled 'Catholic Husband/Catholic Dad' I think it's a great place to talk about something affecting many families in the state of Maryland - The Dream Act. The Dream Act, which we will be voting on this November 6th, would enable children of illegal immigrants the possibility of paying in-state, rather than out-of-state tuition at Maryland colleges. There's more details about the bill that you can read about here.
Recently at our local Theology on Tap, we had Archbishop William Lori speak with us. I am really excited that he's our new archbishop and he has already won my heart (see here, here, here, and here). He had an open forum and I somehow summoned up the courage to ask him a question. This is me nervously asking the Archbishop about the dream act and his fantastic response:
I recorded the audio on my iPhone since my video camera ran out of battery by the time I asked the question. For the part that was recorded on video, I've finished uploading the Archbishop's opening statement which was also really good:
Anyway, if you live in Maryland, please consider voting for the Dream Act. It's a great first step to helping the least amongst us achieve the great American Dream.
